Muritala Ridwan Olamide (Mickey)
In addition to his admirable personality and outstanding leadership qualities, the Oyo stare Born Muritala Ridwan is an accomplished speaker, astute believer in students' rights movements, proven administrator, scholar, multiple awards winner and serial entrepreneur. Being president of the National Association of Business Admin Students NABAMS 2018 Tops chapter, here's a note on a few things you didn't know about MICKEY
Born into a modest family of five that originally hailed from Olofa Lalupon, one of the earliest settlements and historic border town in Ibadan, MICKEY primary education began at Spring of life primary school Bako FCT Abuja. And like the proverbial saying of the Yoruba "Omo ti o ba jẹ Asamu, lati kekere ni yio ti maa jẹ ẹnu samu samu", loosely translated to mean, (gifted kids show traits from birth), leadership started for him at cradle as he was the Class Captain through out his primary education. In a remark, his Proprietor would not let him go without calling him "a leader Nigeria can't wait to have"
His move to Government day secondary school, Abuja saw him becoming the Labour Prefect and one of the best students of his time.
Ridwan was admitted to The Polytechnic, Ibadan, in suburban Saki for two years, where in 2018 he received a national diploma in Business administration. Influenced by lecturers who saw great potentials in him, he experienced great intellectual growth during his diploma and for a couple of years thereafter. He led the National Association of Business Admin Students NABAMS as President and bowed out at the expiration of his tenure, leaving the association as one of the most politically influential and prominent students' associations in school. This earned him an award as the President of the year and a place as an ambassador in the department's roll of honor. Worthy of note is that his concern for students' welfare and academic achievements made him a consideration for General secretary of Student welfare committee, where the impact of his policies and leadership style is still far well enjoyed.
Ridwan's quest for a higher national diploma led him to the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro where he currently excels academically in the department of Business Administration and Management.
He is popular for his personal charisma, stirring oratory, and his sagacity. He has no phobia for what not when he is required to speak for the students rights even in the daunting face of the authorities. He has clarity of ideas, stark ideologies, and advocates for students based on identified felt needs. This could be felt when he debated on Federal Poly Ilaro Radio and narrowly emerged second as the best brain on campus.
His plot to bring developments to the established political system of students Unionism resonates with many across boards, especially among the progressives, many of whom are rooting for him to seek the highest office in the Students' Union Government.
Muritala Ridwan can easily pass as the most experienced and team oriented persons with track records in working harmoniously to advance students agitations while cordially liaising with the management without frictions.
